My name is Marina de la Cruz, aka Marlock, a Spain-based illustrator focused on storytelling and character-driven worlds.

I grew up in a small town, spending my spare time crafting, reading and watching animated films, which I believe shaped my visual language.  Although I initially pursued a science degree, I eventually listened to that inner voice and fully committed to my artistic path.

I studied at Escola JOSO, a Comic and Visual Arts School in Barcelona, and also complemented my training by online courses. 

My work is warm, expressive and narrative-driven. I mainly work digitally, using textured brushes to achieve a painterly feel. I love experimenting with new techniques to keep evolving and expanding my artistic range.

When I’m not drawing, I enjoy films, long walks that spark new ideas, and dabbling in crochet.
